Also Running for EHHOA Board of Directors

Here are brief bios of incumbents running for East Hills HOA board of directors for 2011 and 2012.  Bios of potential board newcomers were posted on August 24th.  Election day is October 28.

Tommie Palladino, 18 Yardley Ct. (current board treasurer)
After so many moves over the years, John and I settled in East Hills 5 years ago.  Situated in a lovely setting, with great schools and easy access to so much, we have never been happier.  I have 6 grandchildren and when not taxiing them to their activities, I enjoy gardening and RPI Hockey.  I am also very active in the local figure skating club where I am proud to be an official of the sport.  I retired from RPI after 24 years of service. I ended my career as an Assistant to the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences.  Having served as EHHOA treasurer for the past two years, I have met so many new residents.  Recently I joined the Beautification Committee and helped with many other residents to plant flowers in the mail kiosks.

Bernie Schunicht, 58 Cheshire Way (current interim board president)
Now retired, at age 71 I am enjoying a life of cruising, gardening, cycling and many other interests. A graduate Chemical Engineer from University of Louisville in my home town and a masters in Chemical Engineering at RPI, I enjoyed 40 years at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory working in software development on ultra-large scale computers to mini- and micro-computers. My forte was in innovative mathematical and logical algorithms implemented in assembly language on a mini-computer platform with my own operating system. For 25 years I raced bicycles competitively and hold many Empire State Games gold, silver and bronze medals. My wife, Ellie, and I have been residents of Latham and Loudonville for 46 years. With four children  in Houston, Cottage Grove (OR), Rochester and Richmond, and six, soon to be seven, grandchildren we have loads of reason to travel . However cruising is our first love with about 200 days accumulated. I have been on the EHHOA Board for 6 years in the past as covenants officer and president and am looking forward to serve again.

Susan Egan, 12 Callaway Circle (current board secretary)
My husband, Jim, and I moved here from Austin, Texas in 2008.  As a 24+ year IBM employee, I've worked as an analytical chemist and quality engineer in many areas of high tech including servers, printed circuit boards and disk drives. I've also written hardware and software technical manuals and a number of scientific papers.  Travel, photography, dabbling in acrylic painting and volunteer work round things out. While much of my time on the EHHOA board has involved recording and posting meeting minutes, my fondest achievement was learning how to set up a blog, then developing the blogsite for our community. I've enjoyed serving as board secretary for 2009 and 2010 and look forward to volunteering for 2 more years.
