East Hills Home Owners Meeting - October 24 (Ballot and Nominees)

At the meeting you'll learn more about plans for the coming year, review the 2018 expenditures and 2019 planned budget and have an opportunity to offer comments and suggestions about our neighborhood.  This year each homeowner also votes for the 2019-2020 Board of Directors.

Below are the bios of each candidate running for the East Hills Homeowners Association Board of Directors for the next two year term. There are eight candidates running for seven seats on the Board.


INCUMBENTS:

John Palladino - 18 Yardley Court
Masters Degree in Education from the State University of Albany
Degree in Pharmacy from Union College, Albany College of Pharmacy
Retired Educational Administrator serving the Troy Schools for 37 years
Past President of two Homeowners Association (Troy/Lake Placid)
Presently serving EHHOA Covenant Chair

Tommie Palladino - 18 Yardley Court
Retired from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Resident of East Hills for 11 years, residing at 18 Yardley Ct
Held position as Treasurer for several 2 year terms


Will Trevor - 23 Yardley Court
Will Trevor has lived in East Hills since November 2014 and he has been resident in the USA for nearly 4 years, recently becoming a US citizen. Originally from the UK, where he hails from the home of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon- Avon, he is currently a faculty program director at Excelsior College in Albany. His experience spans over 30 years in sales and marketing, with a range of roles from consultancy, through to marketing management. In terms of voluntary work, he is currently a weekend tour guide aboard the USS Slater, and he has also held board-level positions in various organizations, including York Housing Association in the UK. Will also spent five years as a Justice of the Peace in the UK, a role which he relinquished on moving to the USA.  He lives with his wife, Wendy, together with two dogs and a cat and they enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area - something that he would like to see preserved. If elected to the board, he will represent all of the residents of East Hills and safeguard the neighborhood to ensure that its unique character and community is fostered and protected. He would welcome the opportunity to serve you for another 2 years as a member of the board and to represent the community of East Hills.

Ken Shannon - 1 Conway Circle
Ken Shannon has been a resident of East Hills since November 2003.  He has served, previously, on the East Hills HOA, first, as Treasurer and, later, as President.  He retired from the NYS Dept of Correctional Services where he served as an Associate Budgeting Analyst.  Many of you will recognize Ken as the Democratic Party Election Inspector at the voting station in the Watervliet-Shaker Rd. Fire Department. 

PK Sharma, MD, FACEP, HMDC - 3 Crailo Court
Currently one of the Regional Medical Directors for The Community Hospice, Inc. Been with them for 8 years.  
Practiced ER Medicine for 30 years before that.  
Moved into the neighbourhood in August 2005.  
Married:  Wife's name is Madhuri Sharma, MS.  
Children:  Two: one in Fishkill, NY, and the other in Englewood, NJ.
Reason for joining the board:  Interested in functioning as an active community member.


Pete Molinaro - 8 Brighton Court

NOMINEES:

Mary Humiston - East Hills Boulevard
Mary Humiston has recently repatriated from London back to the US and moved to Loudonville, NY to be closer to family.  She lives at 6 East Hills Boulevard and enjoys the upstate NY change of seasons; walking with her sister and her dog in our lovely community.  She loves fine food, good wine and global travel and is currently working from home as an executive coach and a consultant for Accenture.

Prior to moving back to the U.S., Mary was the Group HR Director, for Rolls-Royce plc. headquartered in London for the past four years.   Rolls-Royce plc is the world’s second largest maker of aircraft engines and power systems.  Mary oversaw a workforce of 55,000 across 30 countries and led the Company’s transformation.

Before joining Rolls-Royce, Mary was Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Communications and Public Affairs at Applied Materials for six years.  She had additional regional responsibilities for Europe & Asia, overseeing all regional Country Presidents and their teams.  

Prior to joining Applied Materials, Mary was Vice President of Human Resources at Honeywell International Inc., a diversified global technology and manufacturing company for six years with responsibility for various corporate and international organisations; living in Belgium during that time.

Mary started her career at General Electric on the esteemed Human Resources Leadership Program and was selected to join GE’s Corporate Audit staff, spending seven years at GE in HR and Finance leadership.

Mary earned a Master of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the oldest technological research university in the US and studied at Siena College and Oxford University during her undergraduate years. She was awarded the Epsilon Delta Sigma award from Rensselaer for outstanding academic achievement and is a Distinguished Alumnus of Siena College. In 2016, she built a leadership academy with Oxford University for Rolls Royce.



Dr. Randall McFarlane - Yardley Court
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Randall moved to the US in 1987 and now has dual US/Canadian citizenship.  He recently retired from a Principal Engineer position at General Electric Global Research Center and is currently employed as a Lecturer in the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering at Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute where he teaches engineering dynamics and design.  Randall is happily married to his lovely wife Evelyn and has one spoiled golden doodle, Curiosa.  His hobbies include skiing, bicycling and flying.  He flies a Piper Arrow aircraft out of South Albany airport and enjoys flying to interesting destinations in the northeast with Evelyn and Curiosa.
