A series of incidents have been reported to the homeowners association president by residents of Hildander Drive over the past month. Incident #1 below is provided, without editing by the blogmaster, directly from the owner affected:
A homeowner informed the EHHOA president that a daytime break-in at 1 Hilander was foiled. A family member at home chose not to answer repeated doorbell rings. A white Mercedes was parked on the street. Then two well dressed men tried to break in the backdoor. The resident called 911. The would be burglars saw the resident and fled before the police arrived.

"Five homeowners have filed formal complaints with the Colonie Police Department regarding numerous and repeated attempted break-ins at their homes during the past year in which vandals attempted to kick-in the front door.
The most recent act of vandalism involved throwing a vomit-looking, orange substance at the front door of a home between 2 & 3 AM on Wednesday, August 22. There is a possibility that this most recent attack involved someone driving the vandals to the East Hills development in a private car.
The vandals were seen by homeowners the week of August 12th, at 5pm, after they "egged" two homes and attempted to kick in the front door of another home.
The witnesses describe the vandals as caucasian, between the ages of 11 and 13, slender, about 5'4', with dark hair, riding mountain bikes, one of which had an orange fender. They were last seen riding down Hilander towards Stone Ridge.
If homeowners or residents of East Hills see boys meeting this description, especially if they are acting suspiciously, kindly call the Colonie Police Department at once--any time of day or night--at 518 783-2744.
